Hlynur Gudjonsson - Consul and Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Iceland in New York
Mr. Hlynur Gudjonsson serves as the Icelandic Consul for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island as well as the Trade Commissioner for North America based at the Consulate General of Iceland in New York. Prior to this position, Mr. Gudjonsson was the Brand Manager for Icelandic USA, Inc. a large seafood importer, wholesaler, and manufacturer. He has worked as a strategist and managing director in the areas of public relations, advertising, and political campaigning. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston, MA with a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication and holds a B.A. in Political History from the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. Mr. Gudjonsson is cofounder of the Foreign Trade Commissioner’s Association in New York, and its Chairman since 2006. His master's thesis on nation branding was published in The Journal of Place Branding.
